ABOUT THE FIRST TREE

In the beginning, there was nothing. Only the Sun and the wind. When the Earth furrowed its brow, Skal appeared — a cheerful and kind stone who received a gift from the Sun: a flower named Aurélia. But the sun’s heat dried out the land, and the flower needed to drink. Skal set out to find a cloud, but he encountered the Mountains of Ice and Dune, which threatened his flower. Eventually, he reached a mountain where little streams of water trickled down. Dew fell in love with Skal and saved his flower. Their love created the first mountain range, and on its slopes grew the first tree. The wind carried its seeds across the wide world, and thus the land as we know it today was formed. And trees grow everywhere — except on icy high mountains and arid deserts.
